As a Deputy Director at Venture, you will work directly with the Managing Director to oversee implementation and daily operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to management. Your role will encompass client management, business development, research, and project management.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Leadership and Management

 

• Work closely with the Managing Director, maintaining a full understanding of all Venture operations

• Engage in strategic planning and set organisational goals and objectives

• Implement processes and systems to streamline operations

• As second-in-command, oversee the team and freelancers to foster a positive and innovative work culture

 

2. Client Engagement

 

• Manage and oversee client deliverables from start to finish

• Maintain positive relationships with all Venture stakeholders

• Handle additional consultancy requests

• Host events for educators, members, and schools in China, both online and in person

 

3. Business Development

 

• Develop strategy in collaboration with business development lead

• Attend events and engage with the global education community

• Proactively seek out new client opportunities, designing proposals and business pitches as required

 

4. Oversee Research

 

• Support research team on key research reports

• Lead future report briefings and workshops with clients, providing updated research findings to sustain meaningful member engagement

 

5. Project Management

 

• Venture has two new innovative projects that are expected to grow rapidly; your support may be involved in any aspect of their development

 

Requirements

 

• An excellent spoken and written communicator, and an attentive reader

• Able to think strategically and work efficiently, with a high level of integrity and professional ethics

• Able to work in a small team with a start-up vibe, with the ability to take ownership of projects from idea to success

• A positive presence in the office and able to work in a very diverse international team

• Experience in the international education sector and/or market intelligence/consultancy a plus
